Choppin’ Block Call The chopping block in the middle of each side of this call, signified by the axe in the stump, tells the story of the gobblers fighting over a hen. The axe felled the tree behind the birds, and now it’s time for one Gobbler to “fell” his opponent. One side of the call shows part of the fight, with the axe ominously waiting in the stump. On the opposite side, the fight is over, the defeated has “had the axe”, and the victor struts his stuff for the hen. The axe has been set aside, and only the handle is seen behind one limb of the downed tree. On the lid, I carved a wing feather. Maybe that’s all you would find by the downed tree. Just a feather on the ground. That feather could tell a story. Gloss Urethane Finish. $2500.00. |
