Blind at the Slough
The blind at the Slough is in the right center of the photo, in the clump of trees. This blind was in a twenty acre field, surrounded by about fifteen acres of water. In 2004, the field was planted in soybeans, and is next to a 70 acre rice field. In the Spring of 2005 the field was precision leveled, and the wetland in the middle of the field was defined with a low levee. The blind was destroyed, and a pit was buried in the levee between the new rice field and the wetland. The "Slough Crew" shot over 300 birds from this pit in the 2005/06 season. |
