The Ugly Duck Drake Mallard Call is a confidence call. Everyone in my blind uses one, intermittently, mixed in with regular calling. Hunters who don't call can learn to use this call with about thirty seconds of practice. If you know what a duck sounds like, you won't have any trouble mastering this call. $25, shipping and basic instructions, included. This call is ugly! I make them out of black plastic tubing! The call is ugly to the ducks, too! It make ducks do stupid things, like wanting to land where you are. The call has a much better sound quality than any other drake call on the market. Grunting softly into the call makes tears come to the eyes of tired and weary flying Mallards. They can't see with the tears in their eyes, so they land! Blowing lightly in the call makes excellent Wood Duck sounds. Blowing hard into the call, in three note syllables, duplicates the call of Widgeon. |
