Lone Willow

This call is made from a wood found only in the Hawaiian Islands.  It's called Pheasant Wood.  So named from the 'feathery' pattern of the grain.  It's not a rare or endangered specie, but a little hard to find.  I carved a single Mallard flying beneath the branches of a Willow tree.  Marsh grass and some Cattails are carved below the duck, in the marshland scene.  A gorgeous piece of heavy, dense wood, with high relief carving.  Wax Finish. $500.00.
